If pentagon OPQRS is dilated by a scale factor of 7/4 from the origin, to create O'P'Q'R'S', what is the ordered pair of point S'? (4 points)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
(8.75, 5.25)
(1.25, 0.75)
(1.75, 3.5)
(3.5, 8.75)

You would need to the coordinate point for S and multiply both the x-value and the y-value by 7/4 and see what you get.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
would it be
OpenStudy (anonymous):
(1.75, 3.5)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
or did i do it wrong

@Concentrationalizing ???
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well, what is the initial coordinate point for S?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
5,2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Other way around, (2,5)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
2,5

Since you scale this now by 7/4, I need to multiply 2 by 7/4 and 5 by 7/4. So what is 2*7/4 and 5*7/4?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
He needs point S
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So, (8.75, 5.25)?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
It is (3.5, 8.75)

because when you multiply 2 by 7/4 it equals 3.5
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\(2\cdot\frac{7}{4}\) = \(2\cdot1.75\ = 3.5\)
\(5\cdot\frac{7}{4} = 5\cdot1.75 = 8.75\)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So I am correct, right
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yeah, (3.5,8.75) is correct :)

Thank you!
