An experiment in your science class lists the materials needed for the lab. It is your job, as a lab partner, to measure out 25 mL of distilled water and 2.5 grams of magnesium. What lab measuring tools would you choose to measure each substance and how would you use each tool to get the correct amounts? Be sure to describe the process you would follow step-by-step. @Joel_the_boss

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

possibly measuring cup?

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

For the distilled water, you would use a beaker. 1.) You would pour in the water until it reaches the line that says 25 mL or you would have to convert if it was in L. 2.)For magnesium, you get a scale or balance which measures in grams. 3.)Get a small light container and put it on with nothing in it. (There's something you can push on there, I forget what its called) 4.) But it will subtract out the weight of the container so all you have to do is pour in magnesium till you hit 2.5 grams. Hope I helped. :)

JoelTheBoss (joel_the_boss):

Ok. When measuring: "Before pouring take the beaker and weigh it. Subtract this from the end weight to get the exact weight." Place beaker on a flat stable surface and begin to pour slowly. What you need: Gloves Beaker Weight scale Anything I forgot? :P

TheSmartOne (thesmartone):

1. Find the faucet 2. Get your beaker 3. Open the faucet 4. Measure 25 mL of water 5. Close the faucet
