I got 21?

Let f(x) = x - 2 and g(x) = x2 - 7x - 9. Find f(g(-1)).

@satellite73

OpenStudy (anonymous):

f(x) = x -2 g(x) = x^2 - 7x -9 f(g(x)) = (x^2 -7x - 9) - 2 f(g(x)) = x^2 - 7x -11 f(g(-1)) = (-1)^2 -7*(-1) -11 f(g(-1)) = 1 +7 -11 = -3

Depends. If by x2, you mean x^2, then it is not. It is also not if by x2 you mean 2x.

Ohhh i see what i did wrong i put the -1 or f not g

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and yes

x2 = x^2 but i got it now i just made a little mistake which made a huge difference
