I don't really understand how to get the answer to this question, my guess is the square root of 2, but I'm not sure. Please help. If f(x)=1-x, which value is equivalent to the absolute value of f(i)? Possible answers: 0, 1, sqrt of 2, or sqrt of -1.

@GodGirl360 what is i here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i is sqrt of -1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.. so f(i)=1-i there fire |f(i)|=sq root(1^2+(-1)^2)=sq root 2

@GodGirl360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, so my first guess was right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formula |a+ib|=square root(a^2+b^2).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where a and b are real numbers.

@GodGirl360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it is right but there is no place of guess in maths.:)

Ok, thank you so much.:)
