I need help with transition. I am planning a story and for example lets say I start out with it being the 1800s and then the next chapter I want it to be modern day (2014) any ideas on how to skip time/transition? Thanks! giving medal, fan, and testimonial to who helps.

Well I often see people write the date of the start for a chapter but wen they move on to modern day they say "present day" or "modern day" before they start the chapter in Italics under the chapter title

oh and good luck on your story :)

That's a cool idea thanks!

@cecormier just curious could I have each chapter going back and forth to explain how she got there and such cause the past is a very important factor of the story. also if you think its not correct do you know any other methods. hope you understand me lol i'm not sure how to explain this so well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What I mean is like one chapter the past another the present and I use the method you told me above ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya, I think that would, I'm starting my own story and that's what I plan on trying to do

Awesome, thank you so much!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh and good luck with yours!
