The slope of the line passing through (a, b) and (c, d) is?

OpenStudy (jahnavi):

Let the slope of the line be "m" , m= y\[m = \frac{ y _{2} - y _{1} }{ x _{2} - x _{1} }\] here, y2= d and y1 = b, x2= c and x1= a. SO, the slope of the line joining the 2 pts. is \[m = \frac{ d - b }{ c-a }\] also, slope of a line, \[m = \tan \theta \] where, \[\theta \] is the angle made by the line with the +ve direction of the x-axis in the anticlockwise direction
