What is the 46th term in the sequence? 7, 11.5, 16, 20.5, 25, . . . So I already know that it's increasing 4.5. What do I do now? Is there an easy way to do it, because the way I do it is going to take forever.

@ganeshie8

a(n) = 7 + 4.5(n-1) a(46) = ?

How do I find A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a(46) <----

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a(46) means n = 46. It's just the matter of plug and chug. Simple arithmetic.

517.5? @sourwing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i'm not going to check your algebra. You can certainly use a calculator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

... How do I know if I did it correct then? That defeats the purpose... @ganeshie8

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

use wolfram http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=7%2B%2846-1%29*4.5

I see what I did wrong, I put the equation in the wrong order! Thank you. @ganeshie8
