to what extent is the constitution a culmination of the american rev? what does this question mean? How should i address it in my essay?
Hello! I can help you. Do you understand the question at all, or is there a specific part that you need help with?
@nerdgirl6 im not sure what the questioni is asking?
right now, im studying about the constitution, the federalists, articles of confederations. along with the shay rebellions
but i don't see how i can connect this info to the question?
Okay so the question is basically asking how the Constitution addressed all of the issues brought to light by the American Revolution.
oh, so the issues regarding gov. with the british or withing America?
Both!
oh i think i can connect this with the federalists and anti-federalists. right?
Correct You can also connect to problems with the Articles of Confederation, and even go back a bit further and connect with it addressing the inciting issues of the ARW
ok thanks alot!
Anytime! Glad I could help! Please let me know if there's anything else you need!
okay!
@nerdgirl6 hi, if you are on later. im a bit confused on the representation that the founders had issues on? Here's what i know: the smaller states wanted equal representation; meaning that all states will get one vote. But, how was this an issue? Was it because the small states would probably overpower the bigger states? or was it the other way around? Also, the larger states wanted it based on population. I think the issue with this was the the larger states would probably get the most advantage because they are going to get votes by the majority. However, the final decision that the founders made was a house of representative and senate based on population. (atleast i think) im confused on how this voting works? The house is based on population and the senate gets 2 representatives...but how does this fix their issues with the unequal voting/representation?
I think you could relate the first one to how England tried to overpower the colonies and it was an issue because the bigger states with more population would overpower smaller ones Your analysis is perfect for the second one HoR is population based, but the Senate is not, and bills have to pass through both so there is a balance between size and equality. Make sense?
@nerdgirl6 oh it makes sense. But you said that the bigger states with more population would over power smaller ones. But if all states contributed one vote, then it would be unfair for bigger states, because they had more people than smaller states. also, thanks for the response !
Right, which is why they created both the senate and the house, so that no state had any power over another. No problem! Happy to help!
have a nice day ^.^
