OpenStudy (anonymous):

which line is perpendicular to the line y=3/4x +8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could you upload a picture? Or choices? Literally infinite lines are perpendicular to that equation

OpenStudy (triciaal):

for perpendicular lines the product of the slope is -1 what is the slope of this given line?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You know what, I feel stupid, I haven't done this in years. They give us a slope and a y-intercept, knowing the equation is enough, wow I messed up there. The slope is opposite and reciprocal, or -4/3; wait, how do you find the intercept again? Couldn't any line with that slope be perpendicular? I hope I'm not forgetting something extremely simple

OpenStudy (triciaal):

what is the slope of the perpendicular? -1/m you know that the line passes through (0,8) so the perpendicular line at the point (0, 8) for any point (x, y) y - 8 = (-1/m)(x - 0)
