how to find the intercepts of an equation

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

to find the x intercept, sub in 0 for y and solve for x to find the y intercept, sub in 0 for x and solve for y

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you using y=mx+b?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But yeah texaschick is correct

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

it doesn't matter if it is y = mx + b or Ax + By = C....you still sub in your 0's where they belong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=mx+b the b is your y-int

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah it does'nt matter but its easier to look at it in this way instead of placing in zeros. This is just a faster and easier way.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So this way you don't even really have work to do just look at the b
