I'm hoping this is the right place to ask, I'm new here.... Japanese anyone? Does anybody know the best way to learn Kanji? (Without paying for programs and such)
Look it up online. Google Translate works sometimes. Good Luck!
Hi! Learning kanji is a long process, and different methods suit different users. You can use some of those websites: http://jlpt-japanese-studies.blogspot.fr/2013/01/jlpt-n5-kanji-and-meaning.html they follow the JLPT levels from 5 (easiest) to 1. http://japanese.about.com/library/blkodgrade1.htm they follow the Japanese primary school grades.
Thank you! I'll definitely look into these!
Wikipedia can also give you a first glimpse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ky%C5%8Diku_kanji
Ohayougozaimasu! If you are looking to learn kanji, YouTube also has a lot of videos on the subject. Some videos are better than others, but there are definitely many different series on how to learn kanji. A channel that I think does a good job is JapanesePod101. They have different series for learning basic hiragana, phrases, kanji, etc. Here is the link to the first episode of Kanji Corner if you'd like to try it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNuXKUEQCoM&list=PL99AD27DBA8048784 Ganbatte ne!
Wow, arigatou! I didn't even think of YouTube for this, no idea why! I've heard of JapanesePod101 before I think, it sounds somewhat familiar to me. I'll definitely check that out later on!
