Which of the following is a solution to the system of linear inequalities? y<2x-3 2x+y>2 a. (2,1) b. (2,5) c. (-1,1) d. (3,-2) Please don't just tell me the answer I really need help understanding it!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so in order to solve this you must substitute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

we know that when we talk about points the order is (x, y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so therefore answers like a. (2, 1) they are telling us what to plug in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so for instance plug in a and you get : (1)<2(2)-3 and 2(2)+1>2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

find the point that solves them both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have on point, you plug it into both inequalities yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the point contains a value of x and y so the point has 2 numbers but it is just one point, keep plugging in the answers till you find a working one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you and no problem
