OpenStudy (anonymous):

Triangles DEF and D'E'F' are shown on the coordinate plane below: Triangle DEF and triangle D prime E prime F prime with ordered pairs at D negative 1, 6, at E 1, 3, at F 6, 3, at D prime negative 6, negative 1, at E prime negative 3, 1, at F prime negative 3, 6. What rotation was applied to triangle DEF to create triangle D'E'F'? 90° counterclockwise 90° clockwise None of the above 180°

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@uri @Rockiee @Nnesha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So my answer is 90 degrees clockwise. I need a double check on this because im not sure if its correct

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know the formula of 90 degrees clockwise.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes its (x, y) -> (y, -x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yesh right so now look at your EFD"" values are they going same way as formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the answer is 90 degrees clockwise?

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok so your E is ( 1 , 3) according to the formula its suppose to be ( 3 ,-1) in order to be 90 clockwise now check what is E"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you a math genius pico?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the process by which natural forces move weatherd rock downhill

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mw1222 Ill help in a minute. Im doing my own work right now. Ok so yes E is at 1, 3

Nnesha (nnesha):

but that suppose to be ( 3 , -1) because (x, y) -> (y, -x) right ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

RIGHT. Okay so then it is none of the above? because Its not 180 degrees and I dont think its 90 degrees counterclockwise.

Nnesha (nnesha):

do you know the formula of 90° counterclockwise and 180 one ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I know all of them

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok so tell me what is 90° counterclockwise ?? formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

counterclockwise is (x, y) (-y, x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and 180 degrees is (x, y) -> (-y, -x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok so your E is ( 1 , 3) what is E'

Nnesha (nnesha):

@mw1222 hey welcome to open study do not post question on other post so do post your own queston

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummmm ok?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yesh thaku for being soooo nice :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so E' is 1?

Nnesha (nnesha):

only one ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1, 3 lol my bad

Nnesha (nnesha):

E is ( 1 , 3) not E'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so E prime is what then? 3, 1?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk i have Ds IN MATH

Nnesha (nnesha):

ok so lets change ( 1 , 3) to counterclockwise is (x, y) (-y, x) first do this

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mw1222 Go post your question! Ill help you later

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Nnesha ok

Nnesha (nnesha):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so using the counterclockwise formula (1, 3) would be ( -3, 1) ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yesh right now look at your graph see what is E'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-3, 1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ahhh. I probably seem so stupid!

Nnesha (nnesha):

nope you not so what is your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A. 90 degrees counterclockwise?

Nnesha (nnesha):

yesh now you can check F and D also

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright looks to be correct! Thank you for being so patient with me and helping!

Nnesha (nnesha):
