really need help

please help

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Check if the lengths and angles of corresponding sides are in a constant ratio (in this case 2 (or 1/2, depends on which one is the image).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im pretty sure that they aren't similar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but im not sure how to explain

OpenStudy (mathmate):

Give one counter example. If you find it, you're right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the angles don't correspond

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nor do the sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but it needs to be more specific

OpenStudy (mathmate):

The sides are in a ratio, and the angles are to be equal. You can only compare angles by the ratio of the respective x and y-projections. Example: CD has x-projection of 4, and y-projection of 2. JK has x-projection of 2, and y-projection of 1. Since 4/2=2/1, they are in a ratio of 2, so this side is satisfactory. Check all the other sides to complete your evaluation.
