Help me solve? f-1(4) when f(x) = 3x minus 4, all over 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So far I got... f(x) = 3x - 4 / 5 f(-1) = 3(-1) - 4 / 5

Are you looking for the inverse or f(-1)? From what I can tell is, you need the inverse the notation of inverse is often this: \[f^{-1}(x)\] so is this what you're looking for, if so f(-1) has nothing to do with it.

Here are a few rules for the inverse, To find the inverse: Replace f(x) with y Switch x's and y's, so put x where y is and x where y is. Solve for y Replace y with f^-1(x)

I don't understand how the new equation would be set up.. @iambatman

You didn't answer my question yet, are we doing inverses?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe so...I put exactly what my question says.@iambatman
