OpenStudy (triciaal):

hint; what is the sum of all the angles in a quadrilateral?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

this is a pentagon

OpenStudy (triciaal):

sorry what is the sum of the angles in the pentagon?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

540 Degrees?

OpenStudy (triciaal):

measure of each interior angle of a regular n-gon 1/n(n-2)*180 measure of each exterior angle of a regular n-gon 1/n*360

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh i got it! You would end up having 260+3x+10=540 and in the end my answer is x=90

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I think you're missing a few terms when you got 260+3x+10=540

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not sure how, i combined 148 and 112 and got 260. How would you solve it? Did you come up with another answer?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you missed the 90 degree angle (the square marked angle)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

also, don't leave out the 3x+10 and x degree angles

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i am lost now.

OpenStudy (zarkon):

you have 5 angles to add up. looks like you only added 3 of them

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

I think you only considered these 3 angles |dw:1418273991292:dw|
