what is tan 3/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's -0.03563663576. Check it out with a calculator. :)

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

Gabedias, were you asking for \[\tan\bigg(\frac{3}{4}\bigg)\]Or were you asking for \[\tan\bigg(\frac{3 \pi}{4}\bigg)\ ?\]

OpenStudy (camper4834):

lol was just gonna ask the same thing

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

@gabedias

OpenStudy (nicholausblackmon):

-0.03563663576

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yup.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just wanted to say that

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

I don't think he's looking for a numerical answer, guys....literally anybody can plug it into a calculator. I think he mistyped the prompt and is looking for tan(3pi/4), which is a way more reasonable/meaningful question.

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Maybe.. Maybe not is it tan(3/4) or tan 3/4? They both equal different numbers

sammixboo (sammixboo):

Or tan(3pi/4)

OpenStudy (mendicant_bias):

Guessing 3pi/4, because it's highly unlikely they are expected to compute just a tangent value, I'm 99% sure they asked him for tan(3pi/4). tan(3)/4 and tan(3/4) are somewhat meaningless values, but tan(3pi/4) has obvious meaning/importance in the unit circle.
