Linear Algebra 8 Online
OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the solution to the given system? y = -3x + 4 and y = 2x - 1 I would appreciate it if someone could help me figure this one out. I don't want the answer, I just need to know how to work these problems.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\large\color{black}{ y = -3x + 4 \\ y = 2x - 1 }\) I would do substitution.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you know that y is equal to `-3x+4` and at the same time it is equal to `2x-1` So you can conclude that \(\large\color{black}{ -3x + 4 = 2x - 1 }\)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Can you solve the, \(\large\color{black}{ -3x + 4 = 2x - 1 }\) for x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand. I'm so bad at math. Am I supposed to isolate the x variables together on one side?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh thank you SolomonZelman! I understand now thanks so much!

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

So you are able to solve it, on your own?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Nice to hear that:)
