Read the following lines from "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock. "To say: "I am Lazarus, come from the dead, Come back to tell you all, I shall tell you all" Which of the following stylistic elements is used by the writers in these lines? a. allusion b. hyperbole c. irony d. paradox

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not hyperbole. Hyperbole is exaggerating "This book weighs a ton". Irony is pretty obvious, something ironic. Paradox is a statement that seems to contradict itself but is still true and an allusion is an indirect reference to something i.e "I felt like I was Audrey Hepburn the way I was dressed". I believe it's D. Paradox
