President Thomas Jefferson approved the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. He and other Democratic-Republicans had doubts about the decision, however, because the purchase had been supported by the Federalists, who were Jefferson's opponents. the Constitution clearly defined U.S. territory as being east of the Mississippi River. the Constitution never said that the president has authority to make land purchases. the purchase would possibly make the U.S. too large to remain a single united country.

You're welcome.
The first two political parties in the U.S. were the Federalists and the Jeffersonian Republicans. Which of these examples were Federalist policies that the Jeffersonian Republicans disagreed with? the establishment of a national bank strong state courts instead of federal courts a desire for a weak central government strict interpretation of the Constitution
