How do i find the equation of a line with the slope and 1 point?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

slope is rise/run

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You use the slope and point to find out the y intercept, then plug that in to y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or point slope

OpenStudy (anonymous):

correct ^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so plot the point you have on the graph, use the slope to get a few points above and below, then whichever point is on the y axis, is the y-intercept. (:

How do you find the y intercept @nikki1234

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its easy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you see whare the line on the cordinate plane crosses the Y-axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The y intercept is the point that is located on the y axis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the point should be (0,y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think that point-slope might be easier to use for this type of problem
