Percent error calculations are used to determine how close to the true values, or how accurate, experimental values really are.The formula is similar to finding percent of change. Experimental value - actual value percent error= --------------------------------- x 100 actual value In chemistry class, Charlie records the volume of a liquid as 13.3 millimeters. The actual volume is 13.6 millimeters. What is his percent error? Round to the nearest percent. WILL GIVE MEDAL

OpenStudy (perl):

(13.6 - 13.3 ) /( 13.3) = ? multiply that by 100

hey perl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i get my smartscore up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@perl

OpenStudy (perl):

if you guide students, you get medals :)

OpenStudy (campbell_st):

I think you have experimental = 13.3 actual = 13.6 so its Percentage error = (13.3 - 13.6)/(13.6) x 100 it's just a case of substituting the values into the correct positions

OpenStudy (perl):

if i plugged in the actual formula i would get a negative answer, so you can modify the formula , use the absolute value
