What is the coefficient of y in the expression 1 ⋅ 2 + 6y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@cwrw238 @gold_grace123 @AriPotta

OpenStudy (aripotta):

if y is the variable, then what must be the coefficient

OpenStudy (anonymous):

uhh...........

OpenStudy (aripotta):

even if you do 1 * 2 and get 2, you wouldn't be able to add 2 to 6y because they're not like terms. so 6y is the y term. and if y is the variable, then 6 must be the coefficient. coefficients are the numbers before the variable

OpenStudy (aripotta):

like for 13x, 13 is the coefficient

OpenStudy (aripotta):

you catch my drift?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lil bit

OpenStudy (aripotta):

cool

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

OpenStudy (aripotta):

no problemo :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait so the awsnwer is 13 @AriPotta

OpenStudy (aripotta):

noo it's 6. 13 was just an example
