@DanJS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@TylerD could you please help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the smaller side on the similar shape is 6 and the larger shape is 12, how many times larger is the larger shape?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What? That's not one of my choices. Please answer this fast. The pretest needs to be finished by tonight

OpenStudy (danjs):

what is the area of a regular trapazoid

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea

OpenStudy (danjs):

Area is (1/2)(base1 + base2)(height)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. St do I do now? I'm dumb when it comes to math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You cant find the area...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay but is that the answer or do I have to like put it in simplest form? Because the answer choices don't have that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm so confused! @DanJS could you help me out

OpenStudy (danjs):

ok the linear relationship factor between the 2 is 2 to 1, but the area is 2 dimensional so the area will be 4 times the smaller one in the bigger one

OpenStudy (danjs):

4/1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I aware your a lifesaver! Could you help with more?

OpenStudy (danjs):

for example a square with length 1 and a square with length 2 area of each is 1 and 4 the second is 4 times the first

OpenStudy (danjs):

if the relationship btween the shapes is 3 times the first in lengths, then the area will be 3^2 or 9 times more

OpenStudy (danjs):

4 times longer area is 16 times bigger

OpenStudy (danjs):

so on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow I feel dumb... could you help with these two also?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DanJS

OpenStudy (danjs):

The first one will be Volume of the rectangle + volume of the pyramid

OpenStudy (danjs):

Area of the BOX = l*w*h = 5*3*8 = 120

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome!

OpenStudy (danjs):

Volume of Pyramid = (1/3)*(area of base)*height = (1/3) * (5*3)*(3)

OpenStudy (danjs):

Total Volume = 120 + 15 = 135

OpenStudy (danjs):

First answer 135 yd^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

54

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry I forgot that you answered

OpenStudy (danjs):

270 for the second one

OpenStudy (danjs):

just have to keep track and add up all the surface areas of the thing

OpenStudy (danjs):

little bit, goin to eat dinner,, be back in a little while

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Those are the ones I need help on @DanJS. That woykd be it and I appreciate the time you take to help me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DanJS sorry to bother but could you help with these? Sorry its just I really new to finish this

OpenStudy (danjs):

hi

OpenStudy (danjs):

those 3 pages?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes:) I know its a little late but it would be awesome if I could get this over with

OpenStudy (danjs):

For #16 ... D B C A

OpenStudy (danjs):

For #15 B C A D

OpenStudy (danjs):

and #9 ---- D C A B
