OpenStudy (praetorian.10):
an atom is the smallest particle of a chemical element that can exist.
OpenStudy (praetorian.10):
"Over 99% of the atom's mass is in the nucleus. The protons have a positive electric charge, the electrons have a negative electric charge, and the neutrons have no electric charge. Normally, an atom's electrons balance out the positive charge of its protons to make it electrically neutral."

So, essentially, if it is an atom (and therefore in its uncharged form) then 10. Electrons must always equal protons in an uncharged atom.
OpenStudy (praetorian.10):
And so the answer is......?
OpenStudy (itsbribro):
C
OpenStudy (praetorian.10):
Well done. An atom has the same number of protons and electrons :)
OpenStudy (itsbribro):
thanks so much @PRAETORIAN.10
