what is an equation of the line with slope -3 that passes through (2,4)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

To make an equation for a graph, it has to fit into these "foundations": y=mx+b The m is the slope, and the b is the y intercept. The x is the variable, and the y is... well, the y. Those stay the same, except for m and b. If you have a slope of -3, you put that in for m: y=-3x+b And your y intercept (a.k.a. b): |dw:1418778151612:dw| So now you have: y=-3x+4
