Given the number, two-fifths, generate its equivalent forms as a fraction, a decimal, and a percent. In addition, give a real world example in which each form might be used. @One098

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hey one sorry to bother you so early in the morning! :P At least where I live. :)

OpenStudy (one098):

\[\frac{ 2 }{ 5 }\] Now divide 2 by 5 and you'll get a decimal, which is the percent. Now think of an example in with that fraction and percent might be used.

OpenStudy (one098):

Oh and its okay. It's never a bother. It's 8 am now.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so 0.4 is the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So can you explain how I would write it into a sentence?

OpenStudy (one098):

Yes and I meant *which at the last sentence and sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I need the percent of 0.4?

OpenStudy (one098):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its 40%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I did that right :P

OpenStudy (one098):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When you said "Now think of an example in with that fraction and percent might be used." How would I do that?

OpenStudy (one098):

Okay. Think of a situation or a real life problem that you might see 40% being used. Maybe the number of people doing something out of 100%?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me try it out

OpenStudy (one098):

Okay!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I was thinking something like this: 40% Of the workers at Wal-Mart were off on Christmas and the other 60% were working.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol its horrible :I just can't stop thinking about christmas so i had to make it related to that :P

OpenStudy (one098):

Oh! That's perfect! I couldn't have thought of a better one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really?! :D

OpenStudy (one098):

Really! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So is that what I put? :P

OpenStudy (one098):

Yes! Exactly how you wrote it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you sooooo super much!!! <3

OpenStudy (one098):

You're most welcome anytime! <3
