2x-3 it? x+5

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

\(2x - 3 < x + 5\) Have you considered subtracting 'x' from both sides?

OpenStudy (ffrocks3):

2x-3<x+5 +3 +3 2x<x+8 -x -x x<8

@guppy83711 Is That Good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its 2x-3x+5<? @Ffrocks3

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Where did you get "3x"? \(2x−3<x+5\) Subtract x from each side. \(2x − 3 - x < x + 5 - x\) \(2x - x − 3 < x - x + 5\) \((2x - x) − 3 < (x - x) + 5\) \((x) − 3 < (0) + 5\) \(x − 3 < 5\) There is no "3x" in there.
