True or false. For a sample size of n= 26 and a population parameter of p= 0.6, a normal curve can be used to approximate the binomial probability histogram. (I'm almost positive its true but I just wanted to double check, thanks! )

OpenStudy (mathmate):

I would say it's true, although the criteria are marginal. I prefer n>=30, and np>10 and nq>10. Here n=26, nq=10.4.

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ok awesome thanks, what got me confused is previously i read its nearly impossible to estimate a population parameter which made me a little bit confused

OpenStudy (mathmate):

If you actually run into a problem like that, do not forget the continuity correction.

OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

ok thanks!
