OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's a writing question and I am so stuck

OpenStudy (zale101):

The Largest slope has the steepest line

OpenStudy (aripotta):

whichever has the greatest absolute value is the steepest

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz :(

OpenStudy (zale101):

Bugsbunny, does that make it clear?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hurry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you so much so is it -2?

Adrienne had a party at a local skating rink. She spent one hundred dollars for a party room and eight dollars per person for skates. Let c be the total cost of the room and skates, and let f be the number of friends at her party. Write an equation to represent the problem. Which is the independent variable? Explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plz

OpenStudy (zale101):

what's your attempt on doing this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

??

OpenStudy (zale101):

It seems that you quickly posted a question right after resolving the previous one without even trying.

Adrienne had a party at a local skating rink. She spent one hundred dollars for a party room and eight dollars per person for skates. Let c be the total cost of the room and skates, and let f be the number of friends at her party. Write an equation to represent the problem. Which is the independent variable? Explain. C is the total cost so that means the whole equation will equal to the total cost \(\large\color{red}{Equation~=~\color{blue}{Total~Cost (C)}}\) \(\large\color{red}{Equation~=~\color{blue}{C}}\) We know that Adrienne spent $100 for her party room, so we add that into the equation \(\large\color{red}{Equation\color{blue}{+100}~=~\color{blue}{C}}\) f is the number of friends at Adrienne's party, it says that eight dollars per person for skates. We don't know how many people, that's why we will leave it with f, but we know she spent 8 dollars in skates for each person. So \(f~*~$8\) \(\large\color{blue}{8f +100~=~\color{blue}{C}}\)
