Can you tell me which ones are Compounds, Both or Mixtures? Variable proportions Made of elements Chemically combined Physically combined 2 or more components Components retain properties Fixed proportions components change properties

@dan815

OpenStudy (ganpat):

http://users.rcn.com/jkimball.ma.ultranet/BiologyPages/M/Mixtures.html you can refer this.. Its pretty reasonably explained and you can make out..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is blocked the website don't work

OpenStudy (ganpat):

ha ha.. ohkk.. Examples of mixtures: soil ocean water and other solutions air the cytosol of a cell

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Examples of compounds: water (H2O) table salt (NaCl) sucrose (table sugar, C12H22O11)

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Variable proportion: Mixtures are composed of variable proportions of molecules and atoms Made of elements: Compounds are homogeneous forms of matter. Their constituent elements (atoms and/or ions) are always present in fixed proportions (1:1 depicted here).

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Physically combined : i guess mixture Checmically combined: i guess compound

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Fixed proportion: Again compound

OpenStudy (ganpat):

Retain properties: Mixture Changed properties: Compound

OpenStudy (ganpat):

2 or more compounds: i guess it can be both... Gottcha ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is components change properties

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think Components retain properties is mixtures

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe components change properties is mixtures

OpenStudy (ganpat):

For instance, if component A is pink in color and component B is blue in color.. And after mixing, if you can see both the colors then components are retaining their properties.. and if a completely new color then they have changed their properties.

OpenStudy (ganpat):

components retain properties in mixture and change in compound...

thxs I toke it passed already
