A company makes video games. The price of a video game is modeled by the function p(x) = 30x + 2, where x is the number of years since the company started producing games. The number of video games they sell is modeled by the function s(x) = 500x + 250. To find the total revenue from their video games, the company should use what operation on the polynomials? Addition Subtraction Multiplication It cannot be determined

OpenStudy (amistre64):

idealy, revenue is a function that takes the price of 1 product, and multiples it by the number of products sold.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

lets say bananas are being sold if one banana sells for $3, and we sell 100 bananas: we make $3 times 100 in revenue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i'm understanding this so far

OpenStudy (amistre64):

but i cant really make much sense of the information presented to be able to determine the solution in this case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah well i was thinking either its it cannot be determined or multiplication

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the price per a given year; and the number of games they sell ... x is used as 2 different things. and therefore i dont think that it can be determined unless we use a .. forgot the name, when you place one function inside of another

OpenStudy (amistre64):

composition .. thats it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so you also think the answer is it cannot be determined? (just making sure)

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if i were to make a guess, that is the one id be leaning towards yes. but my guesses are not always correct :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

k thank you still

OpenStudy (amistre64):

good luck

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thnx i need it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I went with multiplication and got the answer correct but still thank you for your help it meant alot
