the vertical line that passes through(-7,4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope in algebra 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

The equation of a vertical line passing through (-7, 4) would be y=-7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(-7,4) the vertical that passes through should i make my own graph.

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Correction, x=-7

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

The slope of a vertical line is always undefined

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

No it says it is vertical

OpenStudy (sleepyjess):

Does that make sense? @jesus2012

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you but I also have a problem with that asked the number to be horizontal too.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

before making sense out of the math that you are doing, I would suggest to know it first. 1) A vertical line that is passing through \(\large\color{black}{ (a,b) }\), is \(\large\color{black}{x=a }\). 2) A horizontal line that is passing through \(\large\color{black}{ (a,b) }\), is \(\large\color{black}{y=b }\).

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I prefer to say that slope is irrelevant to a perfect line, not that it is undefined. I have reasons for this preference. But undefined would be certainly correct as far as school goes.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I mean to a vertical line, not to a perfect line. tpyo
