What is the value of x? 3 • (–4) • x = 0 x =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First multiply 3 * -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Right, that gives you -12x = 0, so that means 'x' has to be 0..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because for it to equal '0', 'x' must be 0, because multiplying -12 to 0 will give you 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen. how come it saids your level 61?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We could also divide -12 to both sides, which would give us: 0 / -12, which is 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i thought you were 99

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...no need to calculate anything. The only way to get 0 by multiplying anything is to multiply it with 0. Everytime you have: (anything) * x = 0, x will be 0.
