Describe and correct the error given the functions f(x)=3x-5and g(x)=1/3-4/3. g(0)=1/3-4/3 =-3/3 =-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can someone explain this to me thanks

Directrix (directrix):

Is there supposed to be an x on the right side of this equation? g(x)=1/3-4/3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what i thought to direct, but its the negatives.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never I see it now it's not hte negatives...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no (0) next to the g

Directrix (directrix):

I think it is a constant function, then.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, but it is not asking you to solve for g(0) , and the standerd form is g(x).

Directrix (directrix):

g(x) = -1 g (of anything) = -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not g(of anything) it's g(of a specific number or value).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or value(s) depending on whether there could be extraneous or absolute value solutions.

Directrix (directrix):

>>>no (0) next to the g I don't understand what is being said. Did you check to see if you posted the question correctly. f(x) seems to be extra but not used information as the problem is posted. I don't know.

@jesus2012 Could you post the question directly from your text?
