OpenStudy (hockeychick23):

Mr. Jackson plans to do an experiment with his selected assistant. He will roll a die 10 times. He wants to know the probability of getting exactly 3 fives. Explain why this is an example of a binomial experiment?

OpenStudy (kropot72):

Lets call rolling a five a 'success'. The reasons for this being a binomial distribution experiment are as follows: 1. There is a fixed number of trials ( 10 rolls). 2. The probability of success is the same on each trial. 3. The result of each trial is independent of the results of any previous trials.
