undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Simplify... (y^2 + 7x + 12)/(y^2 - 3y - 18)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I think it is (y - 4)/y + 6)

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

haha lol i just dont like to be rusty at ma algebra lolz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you typed your question correctly?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure that is \(7x\) ??

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

7y* lol

Nnesha (nnesha):

first factor den..

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

you are to factor the top and bottom. How do you get a negative (negative 4) on the top, when you factor a trinomial with all positive terms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think you have switched the signs.. :P

Nnesha (nnesha):

i'm out O_O

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

and i meant y + 4/y - 6 my bad lolz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good.. :P

Nnesha (nnesha):

:P focus on study

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yes that si correct.

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

So many typos today for me /.o

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I make typos all the time. I am the typo-king:P

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

lol ive been doing typos alot for the past few weeks lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And undead, a typo-queen.. :P But not yours @SolomonZelman :P

Nnesha (nnesha):

please close this question now i'm futurist mod

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Why must i be a queen =.=

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(y+3) (y-6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Juando come again. :P

Nnesha (nnesha):

thanks lol hahha

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

lol @waterineyes that was a typo too! He meant 4!

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

Ima give him a medal because i support newbies XD

Nnesha (nnesha):

kaha sy aya ye tapo kis nay bana ye tapyo

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

lol.... my theory: the keyboard though, is set in such a way, that all your typos are recognizable as typos if you are not clicking Shift hard enough. (like = and + ) If you just click a wrong bottom, like "this" - like "thus", then it doesn't look like typo....

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

jk

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

I support this theory.. *chants* Solomon Theory...Solomon Theory *chants*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Also "x" and "y" are placed very far away from each other.. @undeadknight26 :P

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

he probably though it was latex.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what @waterineyes

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

in latex, a space would be ~, but not .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Juando , I mean (y+3) ?? Are you sure?

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

He meant y + 4!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@undeadknight26 talking to Juando.. :P

undeadknight26 (undeadknight26):

So am i :p #defendingthenewbie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah @waterineyes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@undeadknight26 he meant y+3 only.. :P

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

(y^2 + 7x + 12)/ (y^2 - 3y - 18) (y+3)(y+4) / (y+3)(y-6) (y+4) / (y-6)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

just to avoid confusion, verified it again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Juando how you got y+3 still?? (y+3) will cancel out no??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so nice of you @SolomonZelman thanks for that.. :P

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

(unless you are trying to find the domain restriction, assuming that y is the input variable. this is a weird set up though, to set y as input)

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

yw, waterinmyeyes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now you are going to technicalities of the question. :P

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I like doing that sometimes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*into

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

won't overwhelm too much with this question that is already solved. Yw, and see y'all....
