convert 3.5cm/s to m/hr

OpenStudy (danjs):

multiple systems of measure, ... start with what is given \[\frac{ 3.5 ~cm }{ 1~ s }\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

oh nvm, it is meters per hour, thought i saw Miles per hour

OpenStudy (danjs):

take care of either the length unit or time unit first, then do the other one

OpenStudy (danjs):

all in one line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so: \[\frac{ 10^{-2} m }{ 1cm }\]

OpenStudy (danjs):

oops, i already wrote it down here, sorry, dont want to erase it |dw:1419632968859:dw|

OpenStudy (danjs):

you were right

OpenStudy (danjs):

i used, seconds to minute, then minute to hour, or if you remember you can just use 3600 seconds per hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohhh :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then i would just multiply and divide , right?

OpenStudy (danjs):

yep. multiply across all the top numbers, then divide by all the bottom numbers, in this case they are all 1 on the bottom

OpenStudy (danjs):

see how the numbers just work themselves out if you get the units correct first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes :D it is sooo much easier now

OpenStudy (danjs):

awesome!, glad to help, ask anytime

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you soo much XD
