OpenStudy (anonymous):

which process is similar to binary fission? A. genetic variation B. crossing over C. meiosis D. mitosis

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This would be similar to Mitosis since both of them are forms or asexual reproduction of cells. Binary Fission is the last step of cellular division, following Telophase and Cytokinesis. An example of a cell going through binary fission would be a bacterium. Binary fission involves the actual division of cells when two rings of the microtubles or cyto-structure retract.

I hope this helps.

I can at least show you the difference between binary fission, meiosis, and mitosis. Binary fission-A method of asexual reproduction that involves the splitting of a parent cell into two approximately equal parts. meiosis-Genetics. The process of cell division in sexually reproducing organisms that reduces the number of chromosomes in reproductive cells from diploid to haploid, leading to the production of gametes in animals and spores in plants mitosis-The process in cell division by which the nucleus divides, typically consisting of four stages, prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase, and normally resulting in two new nuclei, each of which contains a complete copy of the parental chromosomes. Also called karyokinesis. Hope this helps.:)

TBH I would have gone in depth with all that amazing stuff, but frankly most people would be lost if they saw that rely. (no offense intended, it's just that people do not fully appreciate biology to the extent given). In fact that was merely a fundamental outline of the different processes of cellular division (as you may know). :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You did better than I did though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, yea i know, but i just wanted to make it easier for this person to understand. :)

OpenStudy (abhisar):

Infarct, Binary fission is more related to Amitosis. There is a lot of difference between mitosis and Binary fission/Amitosis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Binary fission is how bacteria reproduce and is very different than mitosis.
