I'm taking the GED January 16 I néed help with the math where do I start from for algebra (please help me )

Nnesha (nnesha):

\(\huge\color{green}{welcome ~~to~~open~~study}\) do you know any website wher you can practice ged math question ??

No

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

@Nnesha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I passed everything on the GED except math ,I'm 46 never learned algebra in school ,

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

46 yeas old?

Nnesha (nnesha):

https://www.khanacademy.org/math/pre-algebra http://www.varsitytutors.com/ged_math-practice-tests here are two links you can practice math question if you go over khan academy link there are unit where you can better practice math question

Nnesha (nnesha):

and of course we are here for you sir/madam to explain any question if you are struggling to understand how to do step by step :)

Nnesha (nnesha):

but still you should ask her/him about this @asnaseer AWESOME teacher here :) and yeah of course @eliassaab math teacher :) they will give you better idea :) :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://saab.org http://mathonline.missouri.edu

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

Best is to take it one step at a time and not to panic. Just post any questions you get where you are finding difficulty here and we will try and help you understand the concepts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In addition, here are the main topics of algebra you could get help for: *Arithmetic (1+1, 2*2, etc.) *Proportions *Sequences *Equations and Inequalities *Functions (Especially exponential, linear, and logarithmic) *Quadratics, Polynomials and Complex Numbers (Yes, it looks confusing) You'll also want to know some geometry: *Theorems, Postulates, and Definitions *Proving *Constructions *Inverses, Converses, and Contrapositives *Transformations (Translations, Reflections, Dilations, and Reflections) *Basic Trigonometry (Sines, Cosines, Tangents, Cosecants, Secants and cotangents) *Trigonometric Functions *Circles, Arcs, and Sectors *Volume and Figures *Coordinate Geometry And lastly, you should know basic statistics: *Lines of Best Fit *Normal Distribution *Correlations and Causation No need to stress. You probably won't need to know all of this; these are just most of the things high school Florida students learn over three years: Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2. I bet you that most of the geometry parts aren't needed anyway.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm pretty sure from the Geometry, you only need to know these: *Trigonometric Functions + Basic Trig. *Coordinate Geometry *Circles, Arcs and Sectors

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...If it is algebra.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's everything all in 1 I think they start with pre algebra

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I forgot pre-algebra. Here are the additional parts that I never mentioned: *Scientific Notation *Two-Way Frequency Tables *Scatter Plots *Distance = Rate * Time *Intrest Formula (Interest = Principle * Rate * Time) It's not really that much since 2 of them are formulas, scientific notation is just easy, and scatter plots are just something you need to know about. Two-way frequency tables is the only complicated thing here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never was taught algebra haven't been in school for over 25 years

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you take the test for me lol just kidding lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's okay. Honestly, you don't need school to learn math, you just need to know the math from anywhere. Openstudy is a great tool that will guide you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I have to remember the formulas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should. They might not give them to you so I wouldn't chance it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Where would you start from to study

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is the most efficient order: *Arithmetic *All of those Pre-Algebra Topics *Equations *Proportions *Inequalities *Systems of Equations and Inequalities *Functions & Inverses *Polynomials *Quadratics (within Real Numbers) *All of Geometry *Complex Numbers *Quadratics (with complex numbers) *Sequences *All of Statistics It's easier to build up, which is what this order would do.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you how do I get in touch with you if I have any further questions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Openstudy is probably the best way. In fact, there are tons of other people to help you, just ask more questions. We, the people of Openstudy, will (usually) always try to find a way to help. You can just ask about each topic and try to let it sink in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank your very much, I'm stressing already horrible in math

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's alright. Just make sure that you understand everything that you learn before you move on. Otherwise, it's harder to learn the material.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Any more questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If any more questions I'll type it thank you
