(5) Not knowing the names of the kids, it was difficult to call on them for answers. (6) I felt rude every time I pointed at a student I was calling on. NO sentence 2 is one.
I'm fairly sure it's sentence 2. Dangling modifiers explain the previous sentence or subject.
