OK I have a question I will post the question then the question I have. Which of the following equations describe the line shown below? (4,4) and (12,6) A. y - 4 = 4(x - 4) B. y - 12= 4(x - 6) C. y - 6 = 1/4(x - 12) D. y - 4 = 1/4(x - 4) E. y - 6 = 4(x - 12) F. y - 12 = 1/4(x - 6) My question is the slope is 1/4 and I got that figured out... But can i put that into simplier form to just 4? Or no?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm im not sure but lets try to figure it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok...

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

do u realize that all the choices are written in \[y-y1 = m (x-x1) \] form @Tallan

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

you only choises can be C D F. now do you know how to use point slope form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! I do, @Godlovesme i am not the greatest at these and I kinda just started em lol so im taking it slow.

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

its alright thats point slope form m=slope y1= y-coordinate x1= x-coordinate in this case we can either use (4,4) or (12,6) but lets use (12,6) so far so good? @Tallan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (godlovesme):

great then can u try setting up the equation :)

|dw:1420396842504:dw| |dw:1420396947542:dw| im quite positive that you cant use 4 bc distribute it to the other numbers and get it into slope intercept form and see if a graph will look like that
