OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

Suppose that atom x undergoes radioactive decay that results in atom y. If y has a larger atomic number than x, which type of radioactive decay occured?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I know it is not gamma decay.....I'm actually leaning towards alpha decay...?

OpenStudy (acxbox22):

nope, sorry i only know up to biology and some basic chemistry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioactive_decay his might help :P

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

lol okay :) thank you

Here is a better link, http://edtech2.boisestate.edu/lindabennett1/502/Nuclear%20Chemistry/types%20of%20decay.html only one of these types adds a proton :)
