I got k<-7 but I'm unsure how to write it

k < -7 is written like this in interval notation: \(\Large (-\infty, -7)\) basically it's the interval from -infinity to -7, excluding both endpoints

just think of it in terms of endpoints, that's how I try to think of it

and infinity isn't really an endpoint since it's not a number, but it's a conceptual endpoint that effectively means "go forever in this direction"
