@k_lynn

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Hiya.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

What do you need help with?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

trying to find the question hold on :P

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok there

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Just a sec, I haven't gone over this in a while.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

OK so first, you need to know what all those words mean. I think coincident means that the two equations form the same line. And soemthing that can help you graph the lines is this calculator. Just type the equations in and the calculator will do the rest https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

so what do you think #1 is? I'm thinking inconsistent after graphing it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on my internet is going weird

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

okie doke

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wheres the negative sign

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

its just the minus sign -

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o I wasn't sure if the subtraction and minus thing were the same sign

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

yep they are, let me know what you get after graphing those.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

then I can check you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they're parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so A for the first one

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

actually, I'm thinking C for the first one. Take a look at this. https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090113152438AAMRuaI

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ but parallel lines are consistent independent

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

hmm maybe we can get @Secret-Ninja to help us.

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

A consistent independent system always has a single solution. Meaning you graph the equations and they intersect once.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o woops lol

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Inconsistent System of Equations = A system of equations which has no solutions. A.k.a. parallel lines.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

ya, so what I'm saying is since the lines are parallel, they can't have a solution. That's why I'm saying it's C. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Coincident. Two lines or shapes that lie exactly on top of each other.

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Just use the calclator k_lynn gave you. https://www.desmos.com/calculator

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

And If you don't know what the definitions to those words are, or if you need a refresher, just look them up.

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

:)

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Good job you guys ^-^ Great teamwork here! :D

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

:) and thanks for coming to give us a check.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

So you get it now?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so just to make sure was it B or C? and I think so

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

for the first one, it was c.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Do you think you're up to trying the rest yourself, and then if you need help, letting me know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was just going to say that :P

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

lol :{) ya, if you need help, just give me a tag.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok will do thanks ya both

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry bad grammer XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100%

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

YAYYY!!!! Great job!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:D yay now its time to do more math DX lol

OpenStudy (k_lynn):

Lol

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

Good Job! ^-^
