okay The Intolerable Acts was the American Patriots' name for a series of punitive laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774 after the Boston Tea party. They were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their defiance in throwing a large tea shipment into Boston harbor and thats what happen

The intolerable acts were the taxes Britain imposed on the American colonies. Such acts you may well identify as the tax on tea. (the Boston tea party is most known). They were put mainly into effect after the tea party as punishment for the colonies. They are mainly what drove the colonies to rebel against the oppressiveness of the British Crown and begin the American Revolution.
