Geometry help please! How you determine the scale factor of dilation?
@iGreen
Divide the points that are supposed to be similar and they will tell you the scale factor. Consider Triangle A, with points: A (-2, 0), B (2, 0), and C (0, 4). And Triangle B has been scaled and has points A' (-6, 0), B' (6, 0), and C' (0, 12). So we know that A and A' are similar, B and B' are similar, and C and C' are similar. Let's take A and A': (-2, 0) (-6, 0) -6 / -2 = 3 So the scale factor between Triangle A and Triangle B is 3.
I'm a little confused...
Yis, now I understand :)
Though, should I just write the first part as the answer?
@iGreen
Yeah, probably.
So it would be "Divide the points that are supposed to be similar and they will tell you the scale factor."?
Yes
Alright, thnx! Next one :)
