Please help! I'm not good with these sort of problems. I am pretty confuse: write the equations of a polynomial with rational coefficients having roots of -1,3 and 2-i.

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[(x+1)(x-3)\] will give the first two roots

OpenStudy (misty1212):

to find the quadratic equation with zeros of \(a\pm bi\) use \[x^2-2ax+a^2+b^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you ! You're absolutely awesome.

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lol glad to help you you good from there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think so :). Thanks!^^

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you're welcome

OpenStudy (misty1212):

\[(x+1)(x-3)(x^2-4x+5)\]

OpenStudy (misty1212):

if you don't want to risk an algebra mistake use this http://www.wolframalpha.com/input/?i=%28x%2B1%29%28x-3%29%28x^2-4x%2B5%29
