Rectangle ABCD is dilated by a scale factor of 2 with the origin as the center of dilation, resulting in the image A′B′C′D′. If the slope of AB¯¯¯¯¯ is -2, what is the slope of A'B'¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First off, rectangles shouldn't have slopes per se. Unless a rectangle is rotated, the the slope of the horizontal sides will be 0 and the slope of the vertical sides will be undefined. Also, if you're dilating a shape you are merely increasing its size. The shapes are still similar shapes and will have the same slopes.
