will medal and fan question in comments Im pretty sure its B i just wanna be sure

The line is horizontal, which means it will only have a 'y' value in the equation.. which will be 'y = ?' What's it going to be? What number is 'y' always on?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for the first one or the second one..?

OpenStudy (igreen):

First

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-2 so A

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, you got it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about the second one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that its eather b. or C at least im pretty sure i can narrow a and D out of it right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would you agree?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@iGreen I think that its B with a slope of - 1/3

OpenStudy (igreen):

For the 2nd one, we find the slope of the two points.. \(m = \dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}\) \(m = \dfrac{-1-5}{-3-4}\) Simplify that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-6/7?

OpenStudy (igreen):

No..that's close..it's -6/-7 which is the same thing as 6/7.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is D?..

OpenStudy (igreen):

\(y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)\) Where \(y_1\) is the y-value of the point, \(x_1\) is the x-value of the point, and \(m\) is the slope.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1

OpenStudy (igreen):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sooo confused..xF

OpenStudy (igreen):

We already found our slope of 6/7, now we just have to plug it in the formula with point (4, 5) So m = 6/7 y1 = 5 x1 = 4 \(y - y_1 = m(x - x_1)\) \(y - 5 = \dfrac{6}{7}(x - 4)\) Which option looks like this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A kinda does. but im prolly wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says choose to tho..?

OpenStudy (igreen):

I know..this is just one of them.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Well we already found the slope..which is 6/7..so the answer will be all the one's that have \(\dfrac{6}{7}\) in it.

OpenStudy (igreen):

So what are the answers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is A one of them

OpenStudy (igreen):

A has \(\dfrac{7}{6}\) so no.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b and c

OpenStudy (igreen):

Yep, you got it.
